Preface
Red Cross is the oldest, largest & most trusteds International Humanitarian organization which is working with its ideology of Seven Fundamental Principles like Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrally, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and university. The Youth of today are the future citizens of tomorrow. The Youth Red Cross is acting as the right wing of Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch (IRCS, OSB) to inculcate the spirit of volunteerism & fostering human values in the young minds of Youth Red Cross Volunteers so that they can minimize & alleviate the human sufferings in the society.
Enrollment
100 young & energetic volunteers are enrolled their name in the YRC unit of SB Women€™s College, Cuttack.
Activities under taken by YRC from 2013-2016
Blood Donation Camp:
A Mega Blood donation Camp in the college campus was organized on 19.9.2013. Principal, Staff & all the volunteers were participated & donate the blood. 100 units of blood was collected by Central Red Cross Blood Bank of Cuttack.
The World Aids Day Celebration:
The World Aids Day Celebration was organised by YRC in the College Auditorium. Dr. D. Mishra was delivered a talk on HIV/Aids. There was a quiz competition among the volunteers & also they got the prizes from the guest on 30.11.2013.
The World Road Safety Day Celebration:
There was an awareness rally by the YRC volunteers on World Road Safety on 15.01.2014 principal & staff also participated in the rally.
First Aid Training Programme & Health Checkup Camp:
There was a First Aid Training Programme & Health Checkup Camp organised by YRC on 15.02.2014 in the College Campus. Principal, Staff & All volunteers were participated.
Two days workshop on Disaster Management:
Two days workshop was organised by YRC on Disaster Management in the College Auditorium on 23.08.2014 to 24.08.2014. All the volunteers got the training & certificates. The programme was sponsored by the State Disaster Management Cell.
Swachha Bharat Abhijana:
A massive campus cleaning was organised by YRC in the college campus on 30.10.2014. This programme is said as €œSwachha Bharat Abhijana€. Principal, Staff were participated in the said programme.
Awareness Rally on Road Safety & Tree Plantation:
An Awareness rally was organised on Road Safety by YRC on 17.01.2015 and also Tree Plantation was done by the YRC volunteers in the college campus.
Participation in Red Ribon Training Programme:
There were 3 YRC volunteers including YRC counsellor participated in Red Ribon Training programme on HIV/Aids at Hotel Blue Lagoon, Cuttack on 18.02.2015 and 19.02.2015.
Celebration of International Yoga Day:
On 21.06.2015 YRC observed on International Yoga day in the college campus.
A Health Awareness Programme by Red Ribon Club:
A health awareness programme was organised by Red Ribon Club on Dysmenorrhea and Spasmodic problems. Two eminent doctors delivered their talk with power point on 22.09.2015. Principal, Staff and volunteers got the previledges. The Programme was grand success.
Awareness Programme on Breast Cancer by Red Ribon club:
There was a health awareness programme on €œBreast Cancer€ organised by YRC in the college auditorium on 07.10.2015. Dr. Krupasindhu Panda & others were delivered the speech with PowerPoint presentation. Principal, Staff & volunteers were participated in the programme.
Blood Donation & Blood Grouping Camp:
A blood donation and blood grouping camp was organised in the college auditorium on 06.11.2015. 38 units of blood was collected & 50 volunteers blood grouping was done by Central Red Cross Blood Bank, Cuttack.
Celebration of the World Aids Day:
YRC observed the World Aids day on 01.12.2015 in the college campus. Principal, Staff and volunteers were present in the programme. There was also a Quiz Competition organised among the volunteers by Red Ribon Club.
Tree Plantation:
A Tree Plantation programme was organised by YRC Red Ribon Club in the College campus on 05.02.2015.
Awareness Rally on Road Safety:
An awareness rally was organised by YRC on Road Safety on 14.01.2016. Principal, Staff and volunteers were actively participated in the programme.
Hepatitis €˜B€™ Awareness Programme:
An awareness programme was organised by YRC in the college campus on 26.01.2016
Swachha Bharat Abhijana:
An Programme was organised by YRC on 08.08.2016
Dengue Awareness programme:
An awareness programme organised by YRC on 12.08.2016.
Eye-check up camp:
This programme was organised by YRC with Rotatary Eye Hospital on 09.09.2016.
Blood Donation Camp:
A Camp was organised by YRC in College Campus on 19.09.2016.
Out Reach Programme:
An outreach programme was organized by YRC at Dagarpada Anathashram on 19.11.2016.

A camp was organised by YRC in College Campus on 24.11.2016.

A programme was organised by YRC in College Campus from 29.11.2016 to 01.12.2016.

A programme organised by YRC with blind students at Sunshine Field on 03.12.2016.
Achievements in different Levels
- Our two YRC volunteers like €“ Femida Nazneen and Aranyaka Mallick participated a Quiz Competition in R.D. Women€™s College, BBSR and got 1st Cash Prize & Certificate on 27.02.2014.
- Our YRC volunteer, like-Femida Nazneen participated a debate competition, organised by Regional Transport Authority of Odisha, Cuttack on the occasion of 26th World Road Safety Day and got 1st Cash Prize on 16.01.2015.
- YRC Counseller attended a Seminar on YRC organised by Ravenshaw University (YRC Unit ) on 07.11.2015.
- YRC Counseller attended a preparatory meeting of €œOdisha Divash€ Celebration at Collectorate on 16.03.2016.
- YRC Counseller & volunteers attended a workshop on YRC at Odisha Red Cross Unit, BBSR on 28, 29 March 2016.
