The Dramatic Society of Shailabala Women's College
  1. There shall be a Drama Society for the College which will be called 'Shailabala Women's College Dramatic Society.' All the students of the College shall be members of the Society.
  2. Every student of the College shall have to pay to the Society's accounts Rs. 2/- in the college office as subscription per year at the beginning of each year.

  3. The Society shall be managed by a Committee consisting of the following member :­
    (i) President - Principal, Ex-Officio
    (ii) Vice President - One member of the college staff to be nominated by the President.
    (iii), Secretary - Any student elected from +3 and P.G. classes. (iv) Assistant Secretary - Any student elected from +3 1 st Year, +3 2nd Year or 5th Year P.G.
    (v) One representative from each class shall be elected by the students of the respective classes, from the 1 st year to 6th year. Science and Arts classes will be considered as one class for this purpose.  
  4. At the beginning of each session election shall be held to different offices on such dates and in such manner as the President may determine.
  5. After elections, there shall be a meeting of the members of the Drama Society. In this meeting the account of the previous year shall be received from the outgoing Secretary and the newly elected office bearers shall assume office.
    (a) Decide which cultural programmes should be staged during the year, but the decision shall be subject to the approval  of the Principal.
    (b) Prepare and pass the budget for the year.
    (c) Have the expenditure in connection with the cultural programme audited within fifteen working days after the staging of the drama.
    (d) Sanction expenditure out of the Reserve Fund for the purchases of property or for the upkeep, repair, replacement of articles already purchased for the Dramatic Society. (e) Meet from time to time to decide all other matters connected with the Society.
  6. Neither the Secretary nor the Assistant Secretary shall ordinarily be given an actor's part in the drama to be staged. One of the two shall keep the minutes of the Society and the other shall be in charge of the accounts. Either or both of them may be removed from office, if they fail to discharge their duties, properly (i) by the Principal or (ii) by a vote of no confidence passed by not less than two thirds of the members of the Committee of Management Le. not less than FIFTEEN members in meeting of the Committee specially called for the purpose and rectified by a meeting of the general body of members called for the purpose.
  7. Nine members shall constitute the quorum for an ordinary meeting of the Committee or Management.
  8. The Principal reserves to herself the right to alter, amend or abrogate any of the rules mentioned above. If a member wants to alter or amend any of the rules, the alternation or amendment must be passed by a majority of the members of the Committee of Management, in a meeting of the Committee specially called for the Rurpose. Such alteration or amendment is subject to the approval of the Principal.
